Under Construction

I'm working on updating the blog's look, and it may take a day or two until I'm satisfied, so please be patient with me!

****I'm having technical difficulties, go figure. Of course I work in IT and can't figure this stupid stuff out. Luckily that's why I married an IT guru! I hope he gets home soon and is willing to help!

Oh Christmas Tree

I finished all my shopping this Monday, which was nice. Our living room is filled with gifts to share and we are very excited to celebrate the holidays with our families and friends.

Yes, we think she's cute some days!

This was one of the pictures on our Christmas picture/card we sent out.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday today to Granny Ann! We hope you have a fun filled today and hopefully we will see you soon!

On this date...

exactly one year ago, we found out we were expecting. I remember that day like it was yesterday. Terrified, nervous, excited, scared, curious, and really tired! What an exciting year it has been. Full of new experiences with my pregnancy and parenthood. We both say we will do it again someday, Lord willing, but for now, we are just enjoying watching Riley grow each day!

4 months old!

This past Sunday Riley turned 4 months old. We went to the doctor on Monday (in the bitter cold, and threat of an ice storm) to get her second round of shots. She's 14 lbs. and 25 inches long. She's in the 75 percentile with her height, and we know she doesn't get that from either parent! She's average size for weight and head measurement. She did great with her shots, and I didn't even tear up!

We have also introduced her to foods a little earlier than the doctor recommends, but she's a hungry girl. I've been making her baby food, which is really easy, and convenient. So far, she's like most everything except applesauce and prunes!

Breakfast with Santa

Each year, our Sunday School class assists in putting on Breakfast with Santa at our church. We serve a pancake breakfast and afterwards, the kids get their picture taken with Santa, and we print the pictures immediately. I was a waitress and Chris served as a photographer. I did manage to break away and pick Riley up to have her picture taken. She was more interested in the long white beard and chewing on her hands! A big thanks to Mr. Wayne who came up Friday to babysit so we could setup and go to our Sunday School party, as well as be at the church on Saturday. Riley loves playing with her grandaddy!

Trip to Hattiesburg

The weekend after Thanksgiving, we packed up and travelled south to Hattiesburg. Riley travels very well, so the trip was easy. We had a great time visiting with my parents and Uncle David. Mom and dad even volunteered to take the night shift with Riley staying in their room, so Chris and I got 2 full nights of rest while we were there! It was wonderful!

A great Thanksgiving weekend!

Chris and I hosted his family at our house this year for Thanksgiving. We had enough food to feed a small army! We were fortunate enough to have great weather on Thursday, so we took the opportunity for a photo shoot in the back yard. Riley was wonderful with all the attention on her, but she still hasn't figured out how to sleep through the night. Luckily, the grandparents are always willing to take the night shift so we can get a little more sleep!

I'm sure we'll have a swing hanging from this tree in no time!

Part of the reason we hosted this year was the abundance of shopping opportunity here in Memphis for Black Friday sales. I sent Chris to Home Depot at 6 am to get us a new tree. It was my big bargain item on Friday! Riley already has a few ornaments on the tree, as well as a few gifts under it as well!
