9 months old

Riley is growing up so fast! I think I say this every month, but it is so true. Normally, I try and pick a new outfit for her to model in for these pictures, but she'd rather be naked, so here you go.

Yes, she LOVES being naked! This is an everyday excitement before bathtime!

We visited the pediatrician on Monday, a few days earlier than scheduled, because we are fighting a double ear infection. Unfortunately, she's related to her mother with her ears and sinus; we'll see about allergies later. Luckily, you would never know she's sick unless you live in our house during the nighttime. She doesn't show the symptoms of a reduced appetite, or slowing down during play time, or running fever. She didn't grow any in height this month, and actually lost weight. We went from the 50th percentile down to the 10th, but the pediatrician said we are just fine.

Please don't worry, we aren't starving our little one. Most meals, I think she eats more than I do, and we have moved onto the finger foods. She's pretty much bored with baby food, and loves her little Gerber stars, watermelon cubes, strawberries, or anything else she can shovel in her mouth. I've made a large majority of her baby food thus far, and I'll still continue to make some of her fruits and veggies, but I think we are done with the puree setting on the blender and ice cube trays. She'll have to settle for the stage 3 foods for now, because I'm not mashing up lasagna or spaghetti! She's ready for the real deal, but she still has no teeth. Again, she's taking after her mother. I didn't cut my first tooth until my first birthday, and we have a history of late dental work on my side. My dad pulled my mom's last baby tooth after they were married (they were both 20 years old). Also, my brother, 25 yrs old, just had a baby tooth pulled at the dentist just weeks ago.

We expect her to start walking any day. She talks non stop, and her newest discovery is the cold water faucet in the tub. "Look mom, if you move this handle, the water starts to pour out of this shinny thingy!"

She's gotten busted for trying to play with the faucet! Such a ham!

Happy Birthday Millie!!!

Millie turns 4 years old today. She will always be my first daughter and the "cutest baby girl" puppy in our house. She is turning into a great big sister, shares her toys with Riley, and even let's Riley play in her dog food! Here are a few pictures over the years.

Beach wedding - part 2

Congrats to the bride and groom! Renee and I grew up together in Starkville, and her parents are actually responsible for introducing my parents back when they were all in college. She was my photographer for my wedding, and does great work!

Riley is learning to pose for the camera!

First dance.

Beautiful wedding cake. The reception was held under the beach house, which was wonderful!

Corn on the cob

Riley got her first corn cob tonight, and loved it.

We also shared with Millie...

Look mom, finger food!

Our little girl is obsessed with the dog food bowl. She is constantly crawling towards the kitchen, laughing all the way, in hopes of playing in the food bowl! Luckily, Millie could care less.

P.S. She has yet to eat the dog food.

Beach wedding, part 1

This past weekend, Riley and I went down to Gulf Shores for a wedding. GG and Karen cane along for a little one-on-one time with Riley, as well as to assist in the driving. We had a great trip, but of course, most of the pictures are of Riley!

You really think I'm going to keep this hat on for more than 20 seconds?

Surely you didn't intend for this chair cushion to stay tied? Everything is required to be test tasted?

My first french fry! Riley tricked me looking like she was just gumming it, since we aren't even close to cutting a tooth. To my surprise, she took a bite out of it when I went to take it away! Mmmmm, good stuff.

The beach wedding pics will be posted later.

Weekend getaway

Two weekends ago, we took a short trip to Nashville for a baby free night, and to see the DMB concert. We stated at the Opryland Hotel, which was beautiful. I did some much needed clothes shopping, and we enjoyed some good food.

Lunch on Saturday at the Cheesecake Factory! Delicious!

This is my only pic of the concert, but all 3 bands were great and the weather couldn't have been better.
