10 months old
Last Sunday, a week ago, Riley turned 10 months old. It is becoming harder and harder for us to get these monthly pictures of her, mostly because she chases the camera, and never sits still. Her biggest milestone this month were her 2 bottom teeth coming in. She is crawling at faster that I can run it seems, and is into everything! She has figured out how to pull open drawers, open cabinets, climb stairs, and has tried to crawl up on the fireplace. She's very determined, but loves to be moving around.
Millie even tried to help us with the photo opportunity!

Party time
This past Saturday, Riley attended her first birthday party. Our neighbor's daughter, Evelyn, celebrated her first birthday with a grand party. Riley got to play with lots of kids her age, and had a great time. Below, you can see Riley in the pink dress, in the middle of standing up. Evelyn is enjoying the tasty orange ball, so cute!!
Don't call Child Protective Services on us. We found her on about step 3, and just got behind her to see how much she would climb. Needless to say, the top of the picture is the top of the stair case, so the baby gate at the bottom is staying up no matter what. Please practice your hurdle abilities before visiting!!
It would be an understatement to say she is into everything. I'm sure her favorite toy is at the bottom of the toy box.
Who me?? Surely I didn't do something I wasn't supposed to do.

Go ahead and laugh...we do!
As usual, I'm behind on posting, but luckily I have plenty of cute pictures. Yes, this begins back at Memorial Day weekend, when we visited my parents in Hattiesburg. We had a great time, but Riley really out performed. As you will see, she is what we would describe as a "happy" child! No kidding, she keeps her mouth in a state of open, just waiting for the next squeal, laugh, screech, or whatever noise she discovers. Chris and I are constantly laughing at her or with her sometimes because she is just so cute. (Yes, I realize we might be just a little partial!)
Chris has been very busy umpiring this spring and summer. He and his friend Cager are a duo, and will work up to 14 games per week! They have been doing 2 nights a week here in Collierville for rec ball, and the weekends they work in Southaven for competitive tournaments. Riley and I went to the Collierville park last night to see daddy in action.
She literally fell face forward asleep after playing so hard. Her granddaddy was holding her on the couch, and she just fell asleep. So sweet!
So, after our fun trip to Hattiesburg, we've been busy here in Collierville. Luckily, the weather has warmed up, and Riley got to experience her first time in a swimming pool the other afternoon. The water was a little cold, but she enjoyed splashing around for a few minutes. Chris has been very busy umpiring this spring and summer. Tooth fairy!
Kim, the lady that keeps Riley just called me at work to let me know Riley finally has her first tooth! I thought I may have seen it this morning, but couldn't decipher it from the mouth full of yogurt. She hasn't been fussy or anything. Maybe this is a good sign for the future! I will try and get a picture to post, along with the other updates I need to do, by the weekend.
