8 months old

Our not so little girl is 8 months old. The time has just flown by. I think just last month, she learned to crawl, and now she's determined to be walking in just weeks. We spend our evenings chasing her around the house, keeping her out of Millie's food and water bowls, and listening to the never ending baby talk. She's related to her grandmothers and great-grandmothers, because this kid LOVES to talk! :)
This picture is just too cute. Millie loves nothing more than to sit at the front door and watch doggy tv, as we call it. Apparently Riley has been observing, because this is now her favorite spot as well.

She has learned the art of pulling up and standing with no problem, and usually forgets to hang onto something. She isn't scared to let go, which makes me more nervous. Here we are practicing our walking abilities.

Aside from being mobile, and all over the place, she has a fascination of pulling back the corners of the rug. Don't be surprised if she finds the dirt I swept under there!

Happy Easter

We had a nice Easter weekend, complete with visits from GG, Johnny, and Karan. Chris and I managed to get up to the Collierville Square before church to snap some pictures.

Riley got lots of Easter presents. Here she is trying to figure out the singing blue bunny!
She's still too young to hunt eggs, but she's enjoyed the plastic eggs, which are now scattered all over our living room. We've got to start working on the process of putting toys away!

Easter weekend was not just church, bunnies, and eggs. Sunday afternoon at our house consisted of the Masters. Riley got her first golf bag, complete with clubs, flags, balls, and cups to put into! She waved her driver all over the place, as she and her daddy enjoyed watching the Masters.

2 weeks post surgery

I survived my sinus surgery, thankfully, although the recovery road was much tougher than I had anticipated. I'm thankful I never turned black and blue, and hopefully in a few more weeks I'll see some results once my internal swelling goes down. Mom was a huge help while I was pretty much useless for 5 days. I must say, she and Riley enjoyed each others company.

I was dying to get outside 2 days after surgery, and I somehow managed to snap this picture of Millie and Riley on the blanket in the back yard.
Mom took Riley to the grocery store, while she did some shopping for me. She got Riley this Happy Easter balloon, and as you can see, Riley loved it!

Day 2

Today wasn't what I expected. My nose felt great considering. I have no bruising and just a little swelling which could be mistaken for allergies. What I didn't expect was the nausia from the anesthia. That finally let up late afternoon, which I welcomed. Chris and mom are taking great care of me, and Millie has been sleeping in my lap all day. Mom did me a huge favor and washed my hair in the kitchen sink, since I can't get my face wet. Talk about feeling like a new person! All in all, recovery has surpassed my expectations, but I'm off to bed and we'll see how tomorrow goes.

Day 1

Surgery went fine this morning. I think it took me a little extra time to wake up, but other than that, I have no memory of the OR, which suits me just fine. I have a very fashionable cast on my nose and look forward to getting rid if the gauze in a day or two. I did thank the doc for the train that ran me over, but pain meds fixed that problem! More to come in a day or two.
