Last Wednesday, we had a bit of a wind storm during the day, which neither of us thought anything about. I wasn't stalking the weather at work, or even concerned in the least bit. I was on the phone with Chris as he pulled into our driveway about 5 pm, and had a bit of a panic, mentioning something about the house and he would call me back. Luckily, my phone rang a couple of minutes later, only to be informed a very large oak tree had decided to lay down and take a rest in our backyard. Luckily, this tree originated on city property, and therefore the city was responsible for removing it. It also managed to fall in a perfect location, missing our neighbors fence, and our house. They spent most of Thursday working to get it cleaned up, and they almost gave me a panic attack watching, but in the end, they cut down all the damaged trees, and even a few dead trees that we needed removed anyway. They finally hauled everything away yesterday. We ended up loosing about 8 trees total, but at least the fence line is cleared for a fence this summer!
